Here is a little history about myself, Mark Nesbit and Blue Sky Flyfishing Co.

I was born in Dallas, Texas and as a youngster I fished for crappie and bass with my family.

In 1963 we moved to Albuquerque, NM.  My mom loved the mountains , pines, and enchanted skies of New Mexico, and Colorado.  She showed us some old fishing tricks she had learned from her dad in Germany.  These little secrets helped me be successful at trout fishing, and became the seed to my passion.

In the 1980's I moved to Northern California and lived on the Sacramento River near Red Bluff.  I fished for ocean run Steel-head trout, King Salmon, Sturgeon, Striped bass,  American Shad, resident Rainbow trout, both Smallmouth and Largemouth bass.  This is where I really got fired up on fishing.  There is nothing quiet like a big Steelie, rocking and rolling with your fly or lure in it's mouth heading for the ocean.  The  gray, cold, wet winters took there toll on me, and I returned back home to NM, and it's better climate.

I started fly fishing the San Juan River in the early 1990's.  I fell in love with the river, and it's tough fighting Rainbows and Brown trout.  Our rainbows are not as large as California's and Oregon's Steelies, but inch for inch fight every bit as hard.

I started guiding for a local guide service on the San Juan in 1996.  Four years later I started Blue Sky Flyfishing Co. I have been sharing my passion , knowledge, experience of the sport, and this world class trout fishery, with my cliental since.

I achieved my U.S.C.G. license five years ago.  This was so I could share with you, some great fishing for Bass {Smallmouth, Largemouth}, Northern Pike, and Carp fishing On beautiful Navajo lake Reservoir.  The San Juan River's head water lake.

  Tight Line's to all,

U.S.C.G. License # 1 091 667
